aussies, i have a question
why isn’t silverchair adored in your country?
i’ve always wanted to know.
I actually have no idea. They’re alright? I have a few of their albums, but I haven’t played them in a long time. I was so obsessed with Diorama, though. Maybe it’s because Daniel Johns comes across a little pretentious.
And, this may be a little off the bat, but Australians have a thing about modesty. You aren’t supposed to think that you’re awesome. You’re supposed to be self depricating, when it comes to creativity. It’s something I’ve heard a lot of people from overseas remark upon, after visiting Australia. But that may not have much to do with Silverchair. And certainly does not apply to all Australians- but it’s something that is definitely widespread.
it’s because the radio/tv/everywhere played the shit out of ‘straight lines’ at the start of the year, and now everyone cringes at the thought of the band due to the song being forced into their minds for several months straight.
